A Hipobuy rehearsal parcel is useful when packing uncertainty could change your shipping decision. The goal is to obtain a more realistic packed weight and size before choosing or confirming a line. Check the feature's current availability, fee and handling process in your account. This guide does not promise that rehearsal is free, instant or always cheaper than proceeding with a reliable existing measurement.
Start with an approved item list
List the stored order numbers, variants and quantities that belong in the proposed parcel. Remove items awaiting a return or unresolved QC review. Identify fragile items, batteries, liquids and packaging that must be retained. Group products by the route they can actually use. A compact box is not useful if its contents make the selected service unavailable.
Write precise packing instructions
State what may be removed and what must remain. “Remove the outer retail box but retain the accessories and protect both shoes” is more informative than “make it smaller.” If the box is part of what you purchased, say so explicitly. Discuss appropriate protection for fragile or shaped items before asking for compression. A lower shipping number is not a good result if the packing defeats the purpose of the purchase.
Save the instructions beside the parcel request. If the warehouse cannot follow a request, ask what alternative packaging will be used and whether the dimensions will change. Avoid repeatedly changing the item list after rehearsal; the earlier measurement only describes the combination that was actually packed.
Use rehearsal where uncertainty matters
Several shoe boxes, padded clothing and mixed rigid items are situations where item weights alone say little about the final volume. Rehearsal may also help near a line's maximum dimension or weight. For one dense item with reliable packed measurements, its value may be smaller. Compare the service fee and delay with the uncertainty you need to resolve, without assuming a universal savings percentage.
Compare actual and volumetric weight
Record both the scale weight and the outer dimensions. The general volume calculation is length × width × height divided by the line's divisor. If a service charges the greater of actual and volumetric weight, a large light parcel can be billed mainly for its size. The divisor and rounding are route-specific; the example in our calculator is not an official quotation.
For example, at a divisor of 5,000, 40 × 30 × 25 cm produces 6 kg of volumetric weight. A 3 kg scale reading does not remove that volume effect. Reducing unnecessary height might help, but only if the remaining packing still protects the contents. Use actual post-packing measurements rather than a target size written in the request.
Compare one parcel with two
For each proposal, record the contents, packed weight, dimensions, service eligibility and quoted total. Combining may reduce repeated starting charges, but increase dimensions. Splitting may separate incompatible items, but adds packaging and another starting charge. Compare the sum of both smaller parcels, with the same protection assumptions, against the single-parcel option.
Also consider whether one unresolved item will hold everything else. Keeping a delayed purchase out of a ready parcel can be a practical choice even when it is not the cheapest possible arrangement. Record the reason so later changes can be assessed against the original goal.
Review the result before authorizing dispatch
Confirm that every intended item appears once, that the retained packaging matches your request, and that centimetres and kilograms have not been confused with other units. Investigate an unexplained jump from the sum of item weights to the packed weight. Re-run the current shipping estimate using the packed result, destination and accurate product category.
Save the rehearsal request, result, quote and chosen line together. A later addition or repack can invalidate the earlier measurement. Check the final payable amount and the available carrier services again before dispatch. Rehearsal improves the evidence for a decision; it does not guarantee a particular delivery date, condition on arrival or lowest price.
